
CAMCO has managed Society Hill Towers for more than thirty years and we are enormously proud of this accolade from the man who built some of the world's most outstanding twentieth century buildings.
I. M. Pei's observation of CAMCO's management ability is just as applicable to each of CAMCO's client properties. Our ability is reflected in the longevity of our clients. More than half our clients have been with CAMCO for more than fifteen years and one third have been with CAMCO for more than twenty years. CAMCO was founded by Philip Harvey in October 1975 to serve the needs of condominium and homeowners' associations. At first, CAMCO was a part-time business operating from a spare room in Phil's home. Slowly, as condominium development became popular, CAMCO's fortune improved. In 1981 Phil moved into CAMCO's first real office in Narbeth, PA. Needing assistance with the growing business, Phil ran an ad for an "Assistant to the President" and Joan Rosenfeld replied and was hired. Joan brought a sales, accounting and teaching skills which over the years have proved to be outstanding qualifications for CAMCO.
CAMCO moved into it's own larger office in Havertown in 1986 where the business flourished. Three years later a fire burned the CAMCO building to the ground. Within two days, CAMCO was back in business with new computers and new desks and and a huge challenge to reconstitute the lost files and data. Most of our clients stayed with us during those difficult days. A new 6,000 square foot building was designed and built in the same foot print of the old building and we moved in nine months after the fire.
In the years since the fire, CAMCO has grown steadily to become the region's largest independent Association management company. Phil credits CAMCO's success to strict adherence to quality service and fair prices.
CAMCO's community management team is made up of more than twenty-five property managment professionals who are dedicated to creating the finest community environment for their residents.
CAMCO'c managers are the most highly trained in their field, and most have professional accreditations such as PCAM and CPM. No other community management company is as dedicated as CAMCO is to continuing education for its managers. Monthly manager seminars are held at the CAMCO headquarters for training by experts in areas that are important to the communities they manage. The training includes insurance, roofing, concrete, painting, legal issues and handling diverse personalities. In addition to CAMCO's educational programs, CAMCO managers regularly participate in industry courses and programs.
